For a status update, the book is completely laid out and about ¾ is incorporated with sketches and finished illustrations. It’s exciting to finally see the entire book coming to life. The first chapter is done, Chapter 2 “The Nature of the Fae” is 90% there as I had to make a couple changes: the painting I was working on for so long (about 80% complete) that was originally intended as a full page, full color illustration for the Fae Courts section was moved to Chapter 6 as the chapter splash. But then it was removed entirely as I realized it just wasn’t working thematically. Maybe I’ll find a use for it somewhere. I’m much happier now with the art in those two spots (each in sketch phase).
